"The UK-based Ghanaian rapper's music is uplifting and colourful...a vibrant spectacle that draws heavily on African culture — both sonically and visually. In fact, it's a deft crossover between traditional hip-hop and Ghanaian rhythms, bridging the gap without feeling forced or contrived." - Complex UK

Kobi Onyame's first independent album Green Green Grasses was released on April 11th 2011. Released to credible reviews from online blogs, tastemakers and music magazines, the album went on to chart in the top 30 UK iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap charts. Singles from the album included 'Inner City Lights', the BBC Radio 1 playlisted 'Protect Myself', 'Dreams' and 'Heartbeat'.

In November 2013, he released the follow up album GLORY. An album which OkayAfrica reviewed as

"a victory lap on the heels of his debut...Glory takes cues from a hip-hop of yesterday, like an ode to the thoughtful rhymes of A Tribe Called Quest. Onyame has become the UK hip-hop game’s unintentional preacher of sunny vibes, a professor of Atmosphere-like testaments to life."

GLORY features the singles 'The Real part 2' and the BBC Radio 1Xtra playlisted 'Went Too Far' and 'Call Out My Name'. Collaborative efforts include the likes of Sway, Emeli Sande, M.anifest, DJ Dummy, Mickey Factz and others.

On the stage, Kobi has performed at festivals including Glastonbuty, T in the Park, RockNess, goNorth and Wickerman in previous years. He has also supported artists including Kanye West, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Oddisee, De La Soul and many more on their UK tour dates.

Kobi is currently working on a new album for release summer 2016. The first instalments are the uptempo Show N Prove produced 'Yo Yo Tinz' and the afro influenced tracks 'Imminence (Only Matter of Time o)' and 'Chosen Ones'.
